Youth Pastors: Jayson & Mia Sloan
Pastor Jayson, when told that someone wanted to know who he is, without hesitation, yet with great humility and sincerity replied, “I am a bond servant of Christ, tender of the sheep, lover of God, giving husband, father and crucified son. I am a servant of servants; therefore, whatever more that can be said of me, need not be said at all.” Purpose and VisionWIN: Cells and ServiceThere is a life that God intended for us to be a part of; the choice is ours. It is our heart in 24/7 to help individuals find that source of life. Two of the most influential ways that we have found is what we define as cells and through our weekly services. Cells are groups of young people from all walks of life that meet together at least twice a month to focus on the Word of God and build relationships with one another. Through our weekly Wednesday services, we come together to worship and feast on a fresh Word from God to help us all become the best that God intended for us to be. CONNECT: The JourneyDuring the process of the journey, many find the gift that God has given to them – eternal life; however, our goal in the beginning and during of the journey, is to ensure that young people not only begin the journey, but also commit to completion for eternity! There is a 3 - step process in this journey to get young people connected and committed. Throughout each phase our focus is the cross. Phase 1: Journey to the CrossThis phase is a time where our youth go through 4 weeks of classes that introduce and begin their relationship with God. Phase 2: Journey through the CrossIn this part they will have and experience one of the best life defining weekends of their life. This is a time in their journey that they really come into personal contact with the individuals that they really are! In these three days they will come face-to-face with God. In this time they are healed of past issues that have has prevented change and transformation for the present and future. Phase 3: Journey with the CrossThe finale of this phase helps them through teaching and discussions relate their three day experience to their everyday lives. This phase helps build them up to confront those past issues that they departed from to empower them to confidentially face the future of their new lives with Christ. DISCIPLE (Get Strong)Be a good example for others to follow! TRAINING: DiscoveryAlong the path and process of the journey there are many heights and adventures of discovery that are forever enlightening to their journey! During this refreshing and yet intense timing of discovery, individuals are beginning their training process to their development of becoming a leader. We believe that a leader is made and not born! This discovery time empowers these young people to realize their God given potential and responsibility to reaching back and getting someone to be enlightened to begin their new life of journey and discovery with Jesus. Jesus stated, " If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me...Luke 9:23 WE teach them how to do this in a classroom setting in three sessions with each being 10 weeks a piece. SENDING: Mentoring TwelveOur vision as a ministry is solely comprised around the principle of 12. As Jesus being our source of example, we believe that this is one of the best and most beneficial ways to reach the multitudes in the harvest. We commit to seeking out and discipling groups of 12 young people to begin the journey, discovery, and training of a new life with Christ for them to go and do the same until this earth has been confiscated and revolutionized for Christ!
