As a pastor, inspirational speaker, motivator and author whose message challenges people to see themselves as the leaders God created them to be, Dr. James C. Hash Sr. is a man on a mission straight from God. As senior pastor and chief executive officer of the 3,500-plus member, multi-cultural St. Peter’s Church and World Outreach Center (SPWOC) in Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. Hash, along with his wife Joyce, delivers a positive message of strength and hope, encouraging people to strive for success in every area of life—spirit, soul and body.

Dr. Hash’s powerful teaching of the Word of God, combined with his bold stand against traditionalism, provide the foundation for individuals to live a consistent lifestyle of faith—seeking God first in all things and trusting Him to show them how to walk out the plan He has established for them. Committed to a spirit of excellence, Dr. Hash is known for pioneering and facilitating ministry functions unfamiliar to traditional denominational methodology. In his continual quest to win souls, make disciples of men, women and children, and reach a dying world with the saving message that Jesus lives, Dr. Hash has transformed his church congregation and expanded its growth.

Dr. Hash inspires the Body of Christ to be a caring people—one that reaches out to the community to share the love and compassion of God and strives to bring out the best in others. His desire is to not only lead others in fulfilling God’s commission to “go into the world and teach the gospel,” but to inspire them to be an active part in the mission St. Peter’s has of “winning souls and making disciples.”

A native of Wytheville, Va., Dr. Hash became senior pastor of St. Peter’s Church and World Outreach Center in 1987 when his father, the late Bishop Reuben K. Hash, Sr., stepped down as senior pastor. Under his leadership, the church, now located on a sprawling 79-acre campus off Old Lexington Road in Winston-Salem, NC, has seen its membership increase from 300 to more than 3,500. The campus houses a 2,700+ seat sanctuary and Family Worship Center, a Family Life Enrichment Center, a We Care House that provides food and clothing for the needy and Heritage Place, a 42-unit housing complex for seniors.

A graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK, Dr. Hash holds a bachelor of Theology degree and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Union Christian Bible Institute in Durham, NC. Dr. Hash and Joyce are the parents of four adult children and nine grandchildren.
